Gaddafi challenges NATO to find out hiding

The Libyan leader Col Moamar Gadhaffi has said that he would outlive the NATO bombardment of the captial Tripoli. He said this admist the report that he was injured by such NATO attack. The report of his attack was denied by the government. Gadhaffi boasted that he is in place where the NATO bomb can never reach him.

The Colonel was reacting to a statement that was credited to the prime minister of Italy that Gadhaffi is probably wounded in one of the raids or that he is hiding in one of the bunkers in his compound. The day before the italian minister spoke to the press one of the raids was reported to have hit a place that is believed to be a bunker where Gadhaffi was hiding.

Both the italian minister and the US could not confirm that Gadhaffi was hit in one of the NATO attacks. The NATO was carrying out a resolution that was carried out by the UN against Libya for using brute force against the opposition in the country which were demanding for a regime change. Since the operation began NATO has been in the battle for about two months now and the rebels are far from taking the upper hand in the battle but NATO has made rearkable success in dislodging Gadhaffi from some of the earliers it has reclaimed from the rebels.

Suicide bomber Kills 80 in Pakistan

Report from Pakistan indicated that not less than 80 people were killed by suicide bomber. The bomber blew himself up at the training center of the local security in Pakistan. The attack was reported to have injured more than 120 people. Already the Taliban in Pakistan is claiming responsibility for the attack. It said that the attack is to avenge the death of Osama Bin Laden by the American seal.

Police source reported that two bombers used a motorbike to carry out an attack in Charsadda. This was detonated at the compound of the Pakistan Frontier Constabulary. It was of the security forces that were funded by the American to deal with the treats that was coming from the neighboring Afghanistan where the Taliban is based.

According to the police source majority of those who lost their lives and those who were injured were cadets who were undergoing training. The other victims were locals who were doing their businesses at the local market that was located nearby.

The blast according to the source happened two times but most of the victims were affected by the second blast and not the first blast. It would be recalled that the US seal killed Osama Bin Laden in a secret operation that was carried out in Pakistan.

Historic flooding threatens Mississippi Delta

The expected happened as the Mississippi River flooded the whole Delta area. The water destroyed mansions, farmlands as well as shotgun shacks in what was described as a historic flooding yesterday.

The flooding which was done in the poorest part of the US was almost as deadly as the flooding that was recorded in 1937. The flood affected the neighborhood while the parts of the city were not affected because of the levees which were built to offer some protections.

The signals of what will befall the city was live throughout the past weeks as the flood waters had been encroaching to the neighborhood which forced many of the Delta residents to move to the higher grounds. This has affected the economy of the state because the dockside casinos were closed down. This is the main stay of the economy of the state.

What has just happened is a sign of the major disaster that is about to come as more flooding is expected along the Delta area of the state. However people in the south of the Delta were not affected as the other parts of the Delta although some homes were damaged by the flood but it cannot be compared to what is happening in the other part of the Delta.

US releases Laden’s video to prove terror leader’s death

The United States government has released the video of the capture of Osama Bin Laden by the US Navy Seals after raiding his compound. The video released is the first photographic evidence of the end of the late terror leader in Pakistan. The total number of videos so far released is 5 in number.

Part of the video featured the al Qaeda leader scrolling his image on television when the seal busted to him. The image was shown by the United States of America News core.

The video which was believed to have been made by Osama last year and which was parts of the items that were seized in his compound contained what was described as message to the American people. Bin Laden condemned the United States of America and the capitalist economic system according to the US government news core which has privy to the videos.

The US has described that video as the single biggest collection ever to be made by the US intelligence in history of the country. The video showed the live picture of Bin Laden up to November last year. The video clearly showed that Osama Bin Laden is the active leader of al Qaeda and not passive leader as some people were thinking. He was actively in charge of all the operations that were carried out by the group.

US ask Pak to allow interviewing Bin Laden’s widows

United States of America is pilling pressure on Pakistan to allow its security agencies interview the widows of late terror leader Osama Bin Laden. The national security adviser made the request. The killing of Bin Laden in Pakistan has sparked off a cold relationship between the two countries.

In their taped interviews president Obama and national security adviser Thomas Donilon were very selective in their choice of words not to openly accuse Pakistan of hiding Osama Bin Laden. The Americans believe since Osama is living in Islamabad it is difficult for Pakistan to exonerate itself of the knowledge of where about of Bin Laden.

The national security adviser is believed to have a tape which the naval seal has recovered from the premises of Osama Bin Laden. The content of the tape is believed to have some sensitive information which might link the authorities of Pakistan of having deals and discussions with Osama Bin Laden.

The government of the United States is seeking to know to what extent the political and security authorities in Pakistan are privy of the stay of Osama Bin Laden in the country for almost 10 years of his manhunt. The relationship between America and Pakistan has never being all that straight since 9-11 attack. America has always believed that Pakistan is not doing enough in the fight against global terror. The killing of Bin Laden inside Pakistan seemed to have reinforced that assumption.

Osama bin Laden finding boosts CIA image

CIA has shown that equipped with latest technology, increased funding and better organization it can tackle incidents like the 9-11 attack on US.

It was revealed that after the 9-11 attack the first set of CIA officials who were deployed to Afghanistan to trace Osama Bin Laden were ill prepared and ill equipped for the mission.

However it is surprising the impact that technology can make just ten years to the 9-11 attack. The US intelligence were better equipped, funded and organized which culminated in the killing of Osama Bin Laden. The US seal was able to lay hand on the technology which combed the nooks and crannies of Pakistan to discover where the most wanted man on earth was hiding himself after almost ten years man hunt.

With the use of satellite photos the Navy seal knew everything about the hide out of Osama. The CIA was able to piece all the information together and became convinced that the wanted man was within the building the seal has captured in photo.

Thus CIA was able to redeem itself after the error of judgment that contributed to the invasion of Iraq. However the success over Osama had shown what technology can do to carry out the most successful spy over conducted on earth. It would be recalled the CIA was organized after the Iraqi invasion of 2003.

New York City plans 6,000 teacher dismissal

Michael Bloomberg the major of the city of New York has presented a budget proposal of $65.7 billion for the 2012 fiscal year. The budget does not have provision for any new taxes however it has cut down the teaching positions in the city by about six thousand.

The major said that the budget was predicated on the expected income from the state and federal governments but he said that there are expected reductions in federal and state funding this he said would lead to provision of fewer jobs and the reduction on the quality of services that are provided.

He said that the city is doing well more than most other cities in the country. He noted that the agency cost control which the city has embarked upon since 2008 has cut down the expenditure of the council by $5.4 billion in one year, however the council according to him is yet to overcome the mounting fixed and mandated expenses from the state.

He noted also that the amount paid as pension has increased from $1.5 to $8.4 from 2002 to 2012. He observed that the city of New York is not immune from the economic realities of the situations in Washington and Albany and observed that the city of New York is not island of its own. He blamed the city’s woes to the state and federal government.

US Intelligence Report: Al-Qaeda was planning another 9-11 Attack

Just few days after the killing of Osama Bin Laden by U.S. Navy seals facts are beginning to emerge on some of the documents that were sized from the former al Qaeda leader.

The US intelligence has reported that it has covered a document which showed that the former terror leader was planning to unleash another terror to the Americans on the anniversary of 9-11 terror attack.

The US Home security department revealed that the attack was to be carried out on the trains at different locations in the United States of America. The reports further disclosed that the al Qaeda was planning to tamper with some of the rail lines so that trains will spill off the track in a bridge or the valley.

The security department however said that it has no link to provide or to show that the threat was active or not. It appears that this was among the first piece of information that was gathered when the US seal stormed the residence of Osama Bin Laden and put him to death. There are other valuable documents that were recovered from the home of the former terror leader.

It will be recalled that US Navy seal carried out attack at Abbottabad Pakistan residence of Mr. Osama Bin Laden and killed him in the operation. The death of Osama is a big boost to the fight against terror. US president Mr. Obama has already congratulated the seal for a job that was well executed.

Medicare differences reveal House GOP’s rifts

The Republicans in the American congress appeared confused over the Obama administration Medicare program. This is evident from the conflicting statements of senior members of the party in congress.

The rift was apparent from the confusion that was created by the Republican Majority Leader of the House Eric Cantor who contradicted himself before the important meeting in White House with President Obama over the Medicare differences between the two parties.

It appears that the Republican House committee chairman on Budget Paul Ryan is more articulate and better informed on the issue. The contradictions of the top Republican lawmakers may not go well for the party as they paid a price for it in the recent recess.

The confusion over the issue was further heightened by the budget committee chairman who said that it is unlikely that the Medicare program of Obama regime would commence by this summer. They described the plan as being over ambiguous. It would be recalled that the budget was adopted just last month but the ongoing debate and disagreement over the Medicare is one of the gray areas that is yet to be settled in the budget.

Other republican members had voted in support of what Ryan stood for during the last month congressional voting for the budget. Not many of them especially the rank and file will like the ineffectiveness of their leadership over the issue.

Obama denies releasing photos of Bin Laden’s corpse

The president of the United States of America, Barack Obama has rejected call to release the photo of the former al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden.The present controversies over Laden’s Corpse, and the questions raised whether the US officials followed proper Islamic death ceremony traditions have perhaps pressurized Obama to keep silent.

The president heeded the advice of the US Secretary of Defense Robert Gay and secretary of state counterpart Mrs. Clinton that the release of the graphic photograph of Osama Bin Laden would constitute a security threat to the US. President Obama was speaking in a press interview with CBS news program that there is no doubt that the US has seen the end of Osama Bin Laden.

Obama had a discussion with the national security team where it was agreed that the release of the graphic picture of the death of Osama Bin laden could spark off violence reaction from his followers.

There are have been rumours that have been going on around the white house for two days about the possible release of the photos but the recent pronouncement by Mr. Obama has put to rest that expectations among reporters attached to the white house. The decision to withhold the pictures from the public was favored by the top echelon of the administration as well as the security chiefs.
