Google’s ITA deal approved

The Justice Unit affirms Google’s acquisition of the ticketing software firm ITA Software over assurance of availability of the ITA’s products for Google’s opponents.

The unit revealed that Google would reduce opponents’ entry to ITA’s information.  Google may employ its authority of web search to send consumers to its personal tourism provisions, it revealed further.

Opponents comprise Expedia, Kayak and TripAdvisor, which possesses the globe’s major scheme that unites fare subscriptions from several airlines to split among tourism organizations.

The Justice Unit stated on Friday that Google would be obliged to certify the software, to carry on improving it and to set up firewalls to conceal ITA consumers’ registered software — which ITA can view — to defend their intellectual possessions.

The Justice Unit stated the contract as formerly offered by Google would have considerably diminished battle between flight-search sites and lessened improvement and customer pick.

Google, the globe’s No. 1 Internet search engine, stated in July that it would purchase ITA Software for $700 million in ready money. The statement flashed bothers that tourism websites, for instance, Kayak and TripAdvisor might be dispossessed of ITA’s software.

The TX legal representative and the EU are inspecting Google’s supremacy in Internet search and broadcasting reports have recommended that the FTC may track match

US to withdraw military intervention in Libya

i America is to support Libya and  return back from its decision for military intervention in the country. The United States is to follow the strategy of removing warplanes from Libyan front, revealed a NATO official on Monday.

The plan has been envisaged in the wake of high criticism of US actions on Libyan issue in the Congress. Turkey and Italy took initiative recently to secure a ceasefire in Libya and offered aid to rebels. The changeover in US strict strategy toward Libya seems to be an immediate response to these initiatives.

The international community took initiative to intervene in Libya following the continuous mass-level demonstration in the country to overthrow Muammar Gaddafi’s government.  The White House changed its policy from Monday regarding its role in the Libyan crisis. Now the other nations France, the United Kingdom and NATO are left to participate more actively in the Libyan fiasco in terms of making aerial strikes against Gaddafi supporting security forces.

Though formal declaration regarding America’s stepping back from military intervention is yet not been made, it is expected to implement the same in two-three days.  However, the United States has clearly stated that it would continue to help the global community with Awacs surveillance and planes for supervising the situation.

Pro-Gaddafi forces refuse to follow ceasefire in Libya

Pro-Gaddafi forces refuse to follow ceasefire in Libya

Libyan crisis does not seem to reach any end so far. The call for ceasefire by the outrageous rebellions who have been continuously fighting with the pro-government security forces has been rejected. The forces did not leave the cities despite demonstraters’ demand for the same.

Gaddafi government’s spokesperson Mussa Ibrahim called it a madness of the rebellions to ask pro-government forces to withdraw from their own cities in Libya.

The rebellions called for a ceasefire after the pro-government security forces suppressed them violently amidst the air strikes by NATO forces in support. However, despite the pressure of international community and direct intervention by the NATO-led forces, Gaddafi’s stand against the rebellions has not changed a bit.

Mustafa Abdel Jalil, a representative of the anti-Gaddafi rebellions in Libya stated that pro-government forces should step back fromwestern cities as per their demand for ceasefire, however there was no response to this call from Gaddafi’s side and the security forces continued their oppression against the protesters.

The rebellions proposed for ceasefire following an statement by Mike Mullen, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff that the NATO-led international security forces would not accompany the US jets.

So far the United States has sent 90 aircrafts to support Libyan rebellions. Following their withdrawal from Libya, only NATO-led coalition would remain at Libyan front. This includes Qatar, UAE, Sweden, France and UK with 193 aircrafts altogether.

US court to interrogate Ex-Somali PM Samantar

A US court has justified questioning former Somali premier over charges of abuses and war crimes.

A judge in the US state of Virginia has decreed that an ex-Somali prime minister can be interviewed under oath over allegements of abuses and war crimes. Mahamed Ali Samantar, who was Somalia’s DoD government minister and prime minister in the 1980s, has denied wrongful conduct.

He is impeached of controlling his forceds to confine, torment, and kill fellow members of Somalia’s Isaaq clan. The judicature opinion means that the Somalis who appealed and filed the case will for the first time be able to interview him.

Mr Samantar’s legal representative appealed to the court on Friday to dismiss the cases against him. US District Judge Leonie Brinkema stated that he had not asked to dissolve the issue.

The original case was filed in 2004 by some Somalis who lived in the United States. The lawsuit was filed under 1991’s Torture Victim Protection Act.

A federal court decreed that Mr Samantar should be given diplomatic immunity, however, the US Supreme Court restored the case.

The US Department of State ordered that Mr Samantar should not be given immunity against the case.

Somalia did not have a proper functional government as warlords forced President Siad Barre in 1991.

Unemployment reduces in US by 8.8 per cent

The people of the United States may consider it a reason to smile seeing the statistical figures for unemployment lowering down by 8.8 percent. The rate of unemployment has reduced from its level two years back when companies started hiring after the recessing recession.

The US economy has an increase of 216000 jobs as per the reports of the Labor department. The new jobs has been created mainly in health care sectors,

retail sector, education, Factories,  and and professional as well as in financial sectors.

AThe United States showed a sign of recovering economy in last few months with increasing number of jobs created every month. However the unemployment rates did not decrease at the same rate as more people joined the race of job search after recession ended.

The main force behind pulling US economy back in shape is the private sector employers and they have received highest gains indeed in return. More than 200, 000 jobs have been added continuously for the second month in the United States demarcating a complete end to recession for the US economy.

Experts term the change as a progress in the US labor market. With increase in number of jobs, the rate of unemployment has reduced to 8.8 percent now which was 8.9 percent two months back. There has been a constant remarkable decrease in unemployment rates for last four months continuously. This is also the sharpest decline in unemployment for the United States since 1983.

Experts predict similar trend for rest of 2011 hoping that 2.5 million new jobs will be added by this year. However, there is still much more to be recovered in the job market as the total job loss during recession was 7.5 million in the United States.

Libyan rebels hope to gain information from defecting foreign minister

Libyan opposition members and rebellions are optimistic to get some strategic details from the defecting minister of Gaddafi’s government. The rebellions’ party Transitional Council has started contacting Moussa Koussa, who has rebelled against the Gaddafi regime citing oppression against the demonstrators.

The minister’s rebel from the government is being considered as an indication of the end of Gaddafi’s rule.

Moussa Koussa knows a great deal about 1988 Pan Am] Lockerbie bombing and approaching him, the rebellions hope to get more factual information to fledge the autocratic Libyan ruler and win the confidence and support of the international community.

And he is watching carefully, revealed a rebel, Awad Juma. Ali Treki, who refused replacing Libyan representative in the United Nations, has also declared his protest by resigning from Gaddafi’s government. Juma added that this clearly shows the beginning of fall of Gaddafi after being in power for 42 years.

The rebellion further stated that Gaddafi was ruling Libyan people at gunpoint. He has suppressed every person who opposed or tried to opposed his acts and put leaders under pressure by targeting their families.

Robert Gates U.S. Defense Secretary has continuously opposed assisting the NATO-led coalition of international security forces to assist the Libyan rebels and save them from atrocities of pro-Gaddafi forces.

US administration’s strategy ‘not clear’ over Libyan Issue

US administration maintains international security forces are working in Libya only to establish peace and for humanitarian purpose. The Libyan President Muammar Gaddafi has fled from the country following mounting pressure from the anti-government rebellions and international community.

The role of the United States in any overseas operation involving UN security Council, international security forces has however not been just for humanitarian purposes so far especially since Obama came in power.

The NATO-led military mission has now taken full control over Libya and now the difference among diplomats over Libyan issue is quite evident in the Congress.

Though Obama retains that arming the Libyan rebellions against the autocratic ruler Gaddafi could also be considered as an option however it was yet not been followed as NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen and French Defense Minister Gerard Longuet refused.

The opposition Republicans severely criticized Robert Gates, defense secretary, Adm. Mike Mullen, Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman over America’s role in Libya.

The US president stated that the military action launched in Libya was aimed to avoid a massacre by the pro-government security forces in Libya.

However, Gaddafi’s military force used anti-aircraft vehicles to counter US air strikes and it became impossible for the international forces to differentiate Gaddafi’s forces from the civilians.

The Republicans has raised their eyebrows over US decision to handover Libyan mission fully to NATO forces after 12 days of operation. Obama still refuses possibilities of sending any ground troop to Libya and there has been no time limit set for the NATO-led mission.

US flays Syrian president Assad for failure to implement reforms

US flays Syrian president Assad for failure to implement reforms

The US administration severely criticizes Bashar al-Assad, Syrian president over inability to address the demands of anti-government protesters.

US President Barack Obama stated that his counterpart lacked capacity to run the administration or do anything to calm down people of Syria. The Syrian government has continuously violated human rights in order to suppress the anti-government demonstrators. Despite promising to appease the protesters, Assad has yet not done anything over meeting the demands of people.

The Syrian president has been close with Iran and supported extremist groups — Hamas and Hezbollah. He also opposed Israel continuously but despite isolating Syria, the United States could not interfere much to stop Assad, neither it could give any financial or political pressure on Syria to force it for a bilateral talk with opponents. Assad and his family has ruled over Syria for more than 40 years so far.

US State Department spokesman Mark Toner stated that only the people of Syria could judge their president and his ability to lead the country forward to meet their aspirations. If Assad fails to bring social and economic reforms in Syria, only people can decide whether they want him to continue.

Instead of caring for protesters’ demand, Syrian president faulted them of conspiring and raising dissent among people. Despite his officials’ suggestions Assad retained emergency law to crush his opponents.

President Obama approves arming Libyan rebels against Gaddafi regime

President Obama approves arming Libyan rebels against Gaddafi regime

US president approved a secret document that authorized US operations in Libya to assist anti-government rebels with arms.

The document seeks for different ways to help the anti-Gaddafi protesters in Libya through arms and legal help.Though the presidential findings, which Obama approved, does not directly allows immediately giving arms to the rebels but it does pave the way for it in near future.

There has been an official statement issued from the White House declaring that the presidential findings had no comment over intelligence issues related to Libya.

The statement repeated what Barack Obama stated a day before indicating the possibilities of provision of arms to anti-government rebels in Libya to force Gaddafi step down, however it was yet not implemented as a decision.

The statement further clarified that the United States was looking over all the ways and possibilities to reach help to the opposition rebellions in Libya to avoid more killing of civilians by Gaddafi’s suppressive forces. There is a fierce debate over US decision to provide arms to the untrained rebels to fight Gaddafi supporting army in Libya.

The coalition forces including US troops enforced a no-fly zone over Libya trying to force Muammar Gaddafi to resign from his post, however, the Libyan president vowed to suppress the rebels by every mean. To confuse the international troops’ air strikes in support of rebels, Gaddafi’s forces left their tanks and started using pickup trucks and it was now difficult to differentiate troops from rebellions from air.
